Effective April 15, 2026 our uninsured service fees have increased. This also means our annual block fees have been changed and updated also. If you or anyone in your family has received a recent invoice by mail, or a reminder to update your annual fee we will honor the fee noted on that mailed letter. It is important you take a few minutes to review so you are aware of services we provide that OHIP does not cover. If you have questions about these fees, feel free to email our administrators and they are happy to help if they are able.
Over the past year, we have not been very strict on our guidelines and uninsured fees being billed, especially in regards to prescription renewals outside appointments, medical advice without appointments, and referrals without seeing the physician. If you wish to avoid those fees, be sure to book an appointment in advance to your renewals or request.
There is a fee within our uninsured services that was not previously billed to many patients. This fee is the one of patients coming for injections or immunizations that are NOT funded by Public health, so this is anything given by prescription. We are happy to help with these injections, but there is a fee of $25 to have them completed at the office. We have chosen to include allergy/outside immunizations/vitamin injections to our annual fee. If you come frequently for these - it would be a better deal to ensure you purchase or upgrade to the annual comprehensive block fee.
If you have a valid annual block fee, your expiry from last payment will still be honored. We will not ask you to pay the difference. However, upon expiry the new fees will apply to renew your package.
We will be trying to make our phones easier to navigate in the coming months also. We have had several issues with technical difficulties beyond our control, and outages of some of our services. Please be patient with our staff. In order to help make the phone lines more open and available, we will be limiting our administrator calls to a maximum of 2-3 minutes. If you require more time or more detailed information you will be given the option of an appointment with your physician, or with one of our clinic nurses. Our goal is to be helpful as a team, however the administrators are there to assist with booking appointments, and helping with minor questions. Any medical concerns or questions need to be discussed directly with a nurse or physician. This will help open our phones up to allow easier access for patients calling in for quick concerns.
Please note that our medical administrators cannot give you medical advice except to advise if you need urgent care, and the physician or nurse is unavailable, they will direct you to see urgent care at the nearest ER department. This also will be done through our email systems, if you are asking a medical question or for something from your physician without booking an appointment you will be invoiced the medical advice without appointment fee. You are welcome to avoid that fee by having the comprehensive or communication annual package or by coming to the clinic for an appointment. (Having a package or agreeing to the fee does not replace the need for an appointment with specific situations, if you have multiple questions or concerns you will be directed to book an appointment). Having multiple back and forth emails, and multiple messages does consume a lot of clinic time, and it will be best to have an appointment for much more efficient care. If we have requested specific things from you, for example weekly blood pressure readings this will not have a fee associated as the physician has requested that from you.
We are also asking that if you send an email, or you send a portal message that you only send one message. Please always direct messages to reception whether by email or portal to get the quickest response. Please do not send a message to both email and portal as this duplicates work being completed. Our administrators are fantastic and do often check our messages outside clinic hours, but this is not mandatory, and not guaranteed. If you have an issue outside clinic hours, that you require assistance quickly we recommend seeking care at the nearest ER department.
As always we want to thank all our patients for their kindness and understanding as we move forward with these few changes. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out by email or through our portal.
